Subtle in aesthetic yet generous in practicality, Twill serves as a table, bar chair or humble stacking dining chair with plenty of character. With its extruded profiles and neatly trimmed ends, Twill Chair draws on the playful nostalgia of a fresh pack of plasticine.

FSC solid ash timber, clear or colour lacquer. Fixed upholstered seat pad.

Seat Pad Curated Materials:
- Maharam Merit - 76% post-consumer recycled polyester, 24% polyester
- Knoll Prairie - 100% Non-Phthalate Vinyl
- Kvadrat Zero - 65% cotton 20% polyacrylic 15% polyester

Designed by Gibson Karlo

Designers Sarah Gibson and Nicholas Karlovasitis established DesignByThem in 2007 after graduating as Industrial Designers at the University of Technology Sydney. As co-directors and industrial designers, the two design products for DesignByThem and have grown the company to include a curated collection of furniture, accessories and lighting from a stellar cohort of Australian designers.

Nicholas and Sarah believe highly in education, both previous lecturers at the University of Technology Sydney and are continuously involved in design panels and industry talks across Australia. They have won multiple awards, exhibited and worked on projects internationally, and have had their work acquired by the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences.

"We love how the double profile looks and functions. It was inspired by plasticine strips and the repetition seen in Twill weaves. It creates a sense of ornament whilst creating strength in the legs and comfort in the backrest."

Design By Them acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora nation (Alexandria studio) and the Cabrogal people of the Darug Nation (Yennora Warehouse) as the Traditional Custodians of the ancestral homelands upon which our company locations are situated.
