Commercial Sales Consultant

About The Role

DesignByThem is a young and fast developing design brand based in Sydney. Approaching 10 years in business we are looking for a Commercial Sales Consultant to join our team as we release some exciting new products and venture overseas.

The purpose of this role is to foster the A&D market in Australia and to assist in developing relationships with key furniture agents internationally.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to have valuable input into the growth and evolution of a design brand with long-term strategy in mind, being part of a team that values input and ideas, and who is keen to progress with the company.

This is a full time role based from our showroom and design studio in Chippendale, Sydney.


  • Represent DesignByThem’s brand through friendly and informative product service.

  • Work closely with the design, production and marketing teams.

  • Build contacts with commercial specifiers and international agents.

  • Identify opportunities, propose solutions and successfully win projects.

  • Organise samples and showroom visits.

  • Manage sales orders, working closely with production to ensure seamless delivery.

  • Provide punctual quotes and relay any feedback to and from the design team.

  • Meet monthly sales budgets.

  • Manage weekly sales forecasting and provide feedback on client’s needs.

  • Travel within Sydney, occasionally interstate and sometimes overseas

  • Attend key industry events.


  • Ability to understand and relay information on our products and services.

  • Strong research experience into market contacts and project opportunities. 

  • Experience with managing sales pipelines.

  • Experience selling to the A&D market.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Down to earth, fun and ambitious.
