About The Role


You will be part of a team in charge of coordinating and driving production design projects which will include product updates and client customisations. The role is a mix of working autonomously to drive projects to completion as well as working closely with the design and product managers to get quick feedback and drive projects forward. This role will suit a mid weight designer, who has a minimum of two years industry experience and is able to understand how things are made and come up with practical, clever and aesthetic solutions.


Core Responsibilities

  • • Drive & coordinate design / production projects with direction from Product and Design managers.
  • • Generate 3D CAD files and drawings for updated collections & bespoke requests.
  • • Generate and coordinate the BOMs, SKUs and drawings with the Product Manager.
  • • Update and generate CAD assets for the Sales and Brand team including Revit and Sketch Up file library.
  • • Respond to sales requests for updated specification drawings for project sign off.
  • • Problem solve any product or manufacturing issues and assist the Product Manager to drive their implementation.
  • • Create and update 3D Models & 2D Technical Drawings to a high standard.
  • • Request quotes from local suppliers and generate pricing approvals for bespoke and custom items to be signed off by the Product Manager.
  • • Generate, update and maintain packaging specifications.
  • • Generate any local inspection reports and any QC documentation.
  • • Assist with any product / batch inspections and quality control.
  • • Generate any 3D CAD on behalf of the Design Managers.
  • •Undertake technical research as requested by the Design or Product Managers.
  • • Organise any samples, chips or swatches on behalf of the Design or Product Managers.
  • • Generate any CNC files and 3D prints.
  • • Maintain and organise design specification folder.


Requirements

  • • Excellent Solidworks and Adobe Suite competency.
  • • Onshape experience is also a plus as this will be the primary CAD platform.
  • • Ability to use configurations and design tables.
  • • Intermediate spreadsheet skills (excel or google sheets).
  • • Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing.
  • • Blender or Keyshot ideal but not required.
  • • Excellent communicator, able to coordinate with various departments and suppliers.
  • • Self driven and good at problem solving.
  • • 2+ years experience in the industry.
  • • Organised with a high attention to detail.
  • • Ability to create new initiatives and implement strategies to improve operations.
  • • Abilities to prioritise and multitask on a daily basis.
  • • Valid driver's license.
  • • Experience working in the furniture industry is ideal but not required.
  • • Down to earth, fun and ambitious.
  • • Must be able to tell one good joke a week through either memes, gifs or interpretive dance.

This role is full time, and is based out of our Alexandria Office/Showroom.
