We're Hiring: Purchasing Officer - Full Time

About The Role

The main purpose of this role is to assist the production team with the purchase of furniture and componentry to ensure the smooth delivery of products on time and without issue. We work with a mix of high-quality suppliers based in Australia and overseas. Being part of a small growing business, you will be encouraged to suggest improvements and implement changes. We value input from all team members and enjoy working together to achieve our goals.

Location: Alexandria, Sydney NSW

$70,000 - $89,999 Full time

Tasks to include:

  • Scheduling and sending purchase orders

  • Following up and tracking purchase orders

  • Reporting any delays to team

  • Working with the production to forecast demand

  • Maximise the efficiency of stock ordering

  • Coordinate payments to suppliers with assistance from bookkeepers

  • Negotiating payment terms and ensuring accounts payable is up to date

  • Maintain SKUS and BOMS with the assistance of the supply chain manager.

  • Relaying any drawings from design team to suppliers

  • Contacting suppliers for custom pricing.

  • Negotiating with suppliers to expedite orders.

  • Reporting on supplier performance and expenditure

  • Negotiate faults and warranty replacements or credits

  • Organising delivery of local purchases (inbound)

  • Ensuring pricing is up to date in the system.

  • Cross-check any take-offs or updates to orders.
